The official list below shows the time slots that are reserved - not confirmed exams. It is important to confirm with your teacher whether or not the final exam for the course will be scheduled during this time.

Locations

The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification exams. Check out the individual exam pages for additional guidelines, terms and conditions and exam content. If you require special accommodations due to chronic illness, visual or hearing impairment or other disabilities make contact with the exam provider and provide detailed documentation when registering.

The Faculty Dashboard in Workday offers a "View My Teaching Schedule" which lets faculty find their exam schedules. Additionally the Registrar's Office has a list of exam times for courses in which an exam is required by NYSED regulations. Final exams for classes in the evening are scheduled during the regular class times of the final exam weeks.

Registration

The exam schedule is available online, and students are advised to look it up. However, it is important to keep in mind that the final exam schedule can change at any time. Students should therefore check with their instructors to confirm the correct date and time of their test. Students should also make certain to print the official list and bring it to their exam.

In addition to the exam schedule, students should also familiarize themselves with the exam guidelines and terms and conditions. These are accessible on the exam's individual page. Students acknowledge they have read and agree to the terms and conditions of registration.

Exam locations will do their best to accommodate participants who have special needs. The nature and extent of these needs must be declared on the registration and confirmed by a physician's attestation. The exam locations must also be able to respect confidentiality and keep it.

If a student has three exams scheduled on the same day, it is recommended that they contact their instructor or department to arrange a make-up exam. While it is possible to take three exams in a single day, it could result in an increase in stress levels and affect the quality of the exam. The professor may not be able to give an additional test to make up for the missed day.

The exam is a paper-based test which assesses the ability to read, speak, and write in German. The results of the exam are reported on a scale of A1 to C2. Students who pass the exam are awarded the Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies that the student has reached the level of language A1. This level is the first level of the six-level scale of competence that is outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The test is free. Students are required to bring a valid government ID to the examination. Anyone who does not have a valid photo identification will be disqualified.

Fees

You'll need to pay an examination fee for the opportunity to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This is in addition to the cost of the course.

Practice assessments provide you with an overview of the style of the questions, their wording and the difficulty of questions on the exam. They let you assess your knowledge level, find gaps in your knowledge and increase your chances of passing the test.

Please note that the exam fee is non-refundable. Examination results can only be received by email and not by phone.
